Patriots Competition Cheer General Info

Welcome to Great Valley Patriots Competitive Cheerleading, located in the heart of Malvern - Chester County, PA.  We are thrilled that you have visited our website and would love the opportunity to meet you and determine how our cheerleading program will best suit your athlete.

Our mission is to promote sportsmanship, athleticism and excellence in the sport of cheerleading while building confidence and team-centric skills in a controlled, safety oriented environment.  This mentality coupled with our passion to develop our athletes physically, mentally and emotionally is what sets us apart from other programs.  Our professional coaching staff is invested in each and every athlete and we make it our personal mission to see that everyone reaches their full potential through positive guidance and superior instruction.  Our focus is on strength training and conditioning, tumbling, elite stunting and choreography.  We pride ourselves on seeing each and every one of our athletes having the best experience of their life! Our teams and coaches form unbreakable bonds that last a lifetime.

Patriots Competitive Cheerleading was officially established in 2014 under the Great Valley Community Organization ("GVCO") after operating under the Great Valley Football League since 2010.  GVCO is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Participants:
All students ages 7-14 (as of August 1) in the Great Valley School District and surrounding areas are invited to join Patriots Competitive Cheerleading.

Commitment/Time Expectations:
Patriots Competitive Cheerleading is a very rewarding experience, but being on the team will require a large time commitment!  All practices are mandatory!  Cheerleading is a team sport and having one cheerleader missing has a negative impact on the whole team!  Practices will be held twice a week. In addition to the mandatory practices, there is a tumbling session one night a week and all athletes are encouraged to engage in additional tumbling and/or conditioning training on a weekly basis.  All practices are held at Grand Slam in Malvern, Pa.

We compete in 5-6 local competitions from January through April. In addition, based on parent interest, we may travel to one competition that will require an over-night stay.

Parent Commitment:
GVCC is a non-profit program that is 100% run by volunteers. As parents participating in the program, you will be asked to volunteer and participate in mandatory fundraising activities.  These fundraising activities allow us to keep costs low and appealing to all families interested in the program.

Practice Uniform:
For practices, all cheerleaders are asked to wear our royal blue practice t-shirts, black cotton athletic shorts and cheer sneakers (no running shoes).  Practice shirts will be available for purchase at the beginning of the season. Hair should be pulled back in a ponytail and all jewelry needs to be removed including post earrings, jeweled bobby pins and hard plastic headbands.

Competition Uniform:
Families are responsible for purchasing uniforms and a cheer bow.  Typically, uniforms can be used for a few seasons. Pom poms will be provided. There is also a warm-up jacket and pants that are optional.

Financial Commitment:
2018-2019 registration cost: $800 (includes gym time, tumbling and competition fees)
Parents are welcome to pay in installments. With this option, $200 is due at registration and $200 payments to be made on Nov. 1, Dec. 1 and Jan. 1.  Late payments may result in athletes not being able to participate.
There is a $50 discount if the total fee is paid up front.
