Caring Hands Scholarship

The GVCO Caring Hands organization was created for the purpose of raising funds for those persons, families, or organizations in our community who have suffered some catastrophic event. The Caring Hands organization was started by a few classmates to raise scholarship money for GV students affected by a sudden death in the family and continues to be a student-run community outreach program.

In 2021, GVCO established an annual scholarship award to be granted to a high school senior who most exemplifies the values of the GVCO Caring Hands through volunteerism, leadership, and community service.

Anvitha Ravipathi - 2025 Caring Hands Scholarship Recipient

On May 21st GVCO had the privilege of awarding the 2025 Caring Hands Scholarship to an outstanding young lady, Anvitha Ravipathi, at the Great Valley High School Scholarship Awards event.

Over the past few years Anvitha has volunteered over 100 hours in support of GVCO community events, including the Challenger Gym Program, community shredding events, and the East Whiteland Township Easter Egg Hunts and Bingo nights.

Always willing to step up to help when needed, always with a smile on her face, you could not ask for a better community volunteer. Each year since 2008 GVCO has been awarding a scholarship to a student who has demonstrated a commitment to community service in the Great Valley area. Thus far in the 2024-2025 school year about 140 students have volunteered almost 1,300 hours to a wide range of activities and events that benefit our community. Anvitha will be continuing her education at the University of Maryland, where she is planning on majoring in Computer Science. While GVCO will miss having this young lady at our Caring Hands events, we have no doubt Anvitha Ravipathi will continue making her community a better place.
