Caring Hands Scholarship

The GVCO Caring Hands organization was created for the purpose of raising funds for those persons, families, or organizations in our community who have suffered some catastrophic event. The Caring Hands organization was started by a few classmates to raise scholarship money for GV students affected by a sudden death in the family and continues to be a student-run community outreach program.

In 2021, GVCO established an annual scholarship award to be granted to a high school senior who most exemplifies the values of the GVCO Caring Hands through volunteerism, leadership, and community service.

Mia Maslowski - 2023 Caring Hands Scholarship Recipient

Mia Maslowski has been an active participant and leader in the Caring Hands program. She served as Co-President in 11th grade and was actively involved in the GVCO Cradles to Crayons clothing drive, as well as a volunteer for Charlestown Days. She helped with the SPCA pet donation drive and organized the painted flowerpots for the Green Meadows Rehab potted plant event. She also helped with the Christmas gift wrapping event for senior citizens. Mia plans to attend Penn State University in the fall.

We would like to thank Mia for her service, hard work and leadership. Congratulations!
