Fall and Winter Cheer

Registration is open grades K-6. Participants can register for just the Fall or both Fall and Winter.

Flag Cheer - Grades K-2

Flag football cheerleading will be for athletes in K- 2nd grade to get introduced to the cheerleading program GVCO has to offer. The athletes will learn cheers, dance and jumps. They will cheer during the flag football games and perform at half time to all fans. K-2 athletes can register for just the Fall program or both Fall and Winter. Winter only registration will open on Oct. 1st.

Flag football cheerleading will have a one-hour practice on Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30 at GVCO. These practices are closed to parents, but the coaches will upload videos to the Facebooks and Instagram pages. The season starts in September and continues until the last flag football game of the season, which is usually the end of October. Games are typically held on Saturdays and once the final schedule it out, the coaches will communicate.

Junior Patriots Cheer - Grades 3-6

The Junior Patriots Cheer Program for Gr. 3-6 combines sideline cheer for football and basketball with competitive cheer where the athletes will compete in competitions in the local area. The athletes will spend time on the fundamentals of stunting, learn a competition routine, condition, work on tumbling and learn cheers for football and basketball. Gr. 3-6 athletes can register for just the Fall program or both Fall and Winter. Winter only registration will open on Oct. 1st.

Junior Patriots will have two practices a week at Grand Slam on Tuesday and Thursday. The 5th-6th grade cheer team will practice from 5-6pm and the 3rd-4th grade cheer team will practice from 6-7pm. These practices are closed to parents, but the coaches will upload videos to the Facebooks and Instagram pages. The season starts in late August. The athletes will cheer at home tackle football games during the fall, which are typically held on Sunday mornings through the last weekend of October. After football season is over, the athletes will perform at the ICFL cheer competition which typically takes place on a weekend in mid/late November.
