OUR PLAN, DREAM AND MISSION are focused on one thing: a large multi purpose facility, owned by
the community through a local non-profit organization. Our goal remains fixed on a facility large enough
to provide adequate space for the various groups in our local community to enjoy: a place where both
kids and adults can gather, bringing together all of our district’s neighborhoods to help develop a
greater sense of community.
MEETING THIS LOFTY GOAL will require an incredible amount of time, effort and money. The current
temporary space at Bacton Hill has demonstrated that there is an overwhelming need for this type of
facility. We have the know how to manage this type of facility, both operationally and financially.
GVBL’S PARENT COMPANY IS GREAT VALLEY COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION (GVCO). As a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Corporation,
it is designed to benefit OUR COMMUNITY!! In September 2007 GVCO finally received notice that we had received
our non-profit status. All contributions are tax deductible!!! You can also designate GVCO/GVBL with a code
of
#47309 on your United Way form. Funds are needed to sustain our center. In
order for our youth to continue to benefit from the GVBL Center, we must raise funds. Our biggest way of
doing this is through our fundraisers. Rent alone costs approximately $7,250 per month. This does not include
utilities, cleaning or minor maintenance.
WE NEED PARENTS of young basketball players who are benefiting from the GVBL Center to be a part
of this organization in order for it to continue to grow and be successful. There are many avenues
where you can volunteer - just think of your strengths and bring them to GVBL. Coaching, refereeing, team parenting,
fund raising, and camp/activity/event planning are just some areas that we need volunteers to help.
Please

Did you know???
Keith Walsh and Tom Curran mop the floors and clean the bathrooms.
We need volunteers to keep the facility up and running! If you can give some time — we can use your help.
BESIDES YOUTH BASKETBALL leagues, which run eight months a year, the Center houses a vast
array of programs, events and activities. The GVBL Center has become a "home" for:
- Local senior citizen’s functions including bingo, tai-chi and book club;
- Fundraisers to benefit local interests;
- Support Group for Eating Disorders;
- Banquets for area associations, school district teams and organizations;
- Activities for GV middle and elementary schoolers as organized by the GV Community Service Group;
- Activities for the community’s Girls and Boys Scout troops.
The potential uses by our local community are endless and we feel we are only seeing the "tip of the iceberg".
